About the Department

The MIB course was started in the year 2011- 2012.

The nomenclature of the MIB course was changed as MCom(IB) course as per directions of UGC with effect from the academic year 2015 – 2016.

Objectives

To provide practical knowledge to the students on various procedures of trading through internship programmes.

To enhance the knowledge on recent development in the field of Export and Import.

To motivate the students to become successful Entrepreneurs.

Association Activities

Employability skill Development Programme on “ Silk Thread Jewellery Making”on 18.08.2017 for BBA(CA) and M.com(ib) girls Students by Ms.B.Preethi, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce(IB).

Skill Development Programme on “ Newspaper Review” for I BBA(CA) male Students by Ms.S.Kanimozhi Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce(IB) on 18-08- 2017 .

Inauguration of PG Department of commerce IB ”INGENUITAS -2017” and a lecture on “Export Opportunities for Entrepreneurs”on 19 - 09 -2017.Mr.N.Moosa, Director, Agro Carbons, Coimbatore was the resource person.

National Level Conference on “ Disruptive Technologies in Financial Services” on 22.09.2017 Dr.S.Kanthimathinadhan, Head, PG Dept. of Commerce, Vivekananda Institute of Management, Bangalore and R.Sathish ,partner SRKM and associates Coimbatore were the resources persons.

Seminar on “Science of Body Language” on 27 -09 -2017. by Mr.K.K.Prasad, Business Consultant, Coimbatore .

Institutional Visit to CMC College, Coimbatore on 28.09.2017.

Workshop on Tally on 08.12.2017 by Mr.M.Arumugam, Assistant Manager, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RS Puram, Coimbatore.

Pongal Special Pattimandram- Jointly organized with ARRA Television. Dr.S.D.Kalai Amuthan, Dr.Umamaheswari, Mrs.Sathyapriya, Mr.Tamilarasan, Mrs.Ponpoongodi, Mrs.Sumathi and Dr.SenthilKumar, participated in the debate.

Extension Activity – “ Silk Thread Jewellery making” Training given for Self Help groups of Jagir Naickenpalayam by Ms.C.Subha , Assistant Professor , Department of Business Administration(CA) and Ms.B.Preethi Assistant Professor , PG Department commerce( IB), Kovai Kalaimagal College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
