Every institution including a deemed
to be university, that provides technical education shall
establish an Anti-ragging Committee which will be nominated
and led by the institution's Head of Institution, and will
include representatives from the civil and police
administrations, local media, Non-Governmental Organizations
involved in youth activities, faculty members, parents, and
students belonging to the followed. The Anti-Ragging
Committee's responsibility is to guarantee that the
provisions of these Regulations, as well as any other law
currently in addressing ragging, as well as to monitor and
oversee the performance in preventing ragging in the
institution.
Functions
The Committee will be relied upon to
conduct surprise raids on hostels and other sites that are
prone to inspect such locations.
It shall also be the responsibility of the
Committee to conduct an on-the-spot investigation into any
incidents of ragging reported to the Head of the
Institution, any member of the faculty or staff, any
student, any parent or guardian, any employee of a service
provider, or any other person, as the case may be and the
investigation report along with recommendations shall be
submitted to the Anti-Ragging Committee for action.
